ABOUT ME

Hello students of Canterbury,
I’m also a student myself, studying Journalism at Canterbury Christ Church University. Like you, I too am crazy about clothes, and would probably list following the glorious and fast-moving world of fashion as my favourite hobby. From searching the stores to scouting countless magazines, I am constantly on the lookout for that new must-have item to update my look. Once I have graduated later this year, I hope to pursue my dream of becoming a fashion journalist, meaning I will be able to spend hours trawling through clothes websites and style guides but actually have a pay check to show for it!
The fashion industry seems to be never-ending, and the choices available to today’s fashionista are far from limited. Still, every girl has her preferences, so here’s a list of some of my own personal fashion favourites…

Gossip Girl style

There’s just something about New York! The whole city screams style, and any fashion fanatic seems to obsess about the city that never sleeps. We all know that New York can pretty much spark trends all by itself, with many everyday girls attempting to steal the style of a fashionista living in the big apple. The ITV2 hit Gossip Girl epitomises NY fashion, and their leading ladies Serena and Blair have fast become my personal style icons. With Serena oozing casual glamour and Blair nailing prim perfection, the two are showcases for every upcoming trend.

Shoe Heaven

Like most girls I’m a sucker for shoes. An exciting pair of heels can pretty much liven up any outfit, and I seem to find that my collection is constantly growing. From bold boots to pretty pumps, from ladylike loafers to sexy stilettos, I’m addicted to buying the lot! But as they say, there’s no such thing as too many shoes…

Leopard print

Possibly my favourite print of the season is leopard print. Far from tacky, this trend couldn’t be further from the Pat Butcher reputation that it held for so long. Instead, leopard print is now worn by the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus and has featured a lot in my winter wardrobe.

Fabulous floral

Florals are fabulous as they never seem to go out of style. They can be worn the whole year round, so purchasing an item with a floral print is an investment I like to think. The print is also a firm regular amongst Hollywood’s residents, with the likes of Blake Lively, Kate Hudson and the Kardashians being floral fans.

A girl can dream…
It’s not exactly in my price range right now, but I can’t help but admire the simple class of Chanel. Take a look at their 2012 spring collection!
